the bohol trip was carefully planned and well hidden from Sarah. (well it is a surprise right? :) every plan in bohol cannot be made possible without the help of KC Lumayag, my college batchmate and now stays in Tagbilaran.
Upon check-in in the airport, i was already very nervous that Sarah might find out where i was taking her.. thank god she didn't know where Tagbilaran is... but then... my surprise blew its own cover when we landed in Tagbilaran... a huge board sign says "Welcome to Bohol!" with a picture of a tarsier on it greeted us as we stepped off the plane. *slaps own forehead*
We stayed at amorita resort in panglao island. the place was purely amazing! they have a great infinity pool, a great view of the shoreline, and their fish and chips are to die for! the staff is very much accomodating and friendly and the rooms are clean and very comfortable. :)
during our stay in bohol, we were able to go to baclayon church. according to our tour guide Jun, Baclayon church is the 2nd oldest church in the Philippines. it was absolutely amazing! you can actually breathe the "antique" air in there! the age of the church and everything in it was just... wow. we also went to see the tarsiers and the chocolate hills. we were able to do all of this in one afternoon. in the evening we decided to head to the loboc river to have a dinner and experience the loboc river night cruise.
the next day, we managed to go island hopping and the islands are amazing! :) this is what we saw:
Beautiful right? :)
we were also able to walk on the shores and had their mongolian bbq nights every wednesdays evenings *yum!*. and we also ate in one of those grilling places which was super cheap. the food there is not as expensive as boracay i must say. and bohol is simply so quiet and not crowded. (ma'am/ sir island hopping, banana boat, parasailing... sounds familiar?) :p
the people there gave me one truly amazing encounter: i accidentally left my phone on the grilling restaurant on the far end of the island from amorita. it has been already a mid-game of scrabble between me and sarah before i realized it. when i came back to where we had dinner, thank god... it was still there. i will never ever forget them for this. I THANK THEM AND I LOVE THEM. :) :) :)
on our monthsary, i prepared a supposed candlelight dinner for us on the observation deck of the resort which overlooks the beach :) it's an amazing place to have nice dinner with the view and the sound of the waves. unfortunately, it rained that night... so this is how the staff of amorita improvised our planned monthsary dinner:
sarah cried when she saw this. i am glad that she loved it :)
